An Editor’s Perspective: The Do’s and Don’ts in Clinical Trial Manuscripts

Most of the higher-ranking Endocrine & Pharmacology journals are intensely competitive.  DOM is one of the few journals which prioritises pharmacology and therapeutics research, including preclinical studies, early-phase human research and the more conventional (phase I-IV) RCTs.  There has also been a steep rise in the number of observational ‘real world practice’ studies, based on electronic databases, and the number of meta-analyses.  DOM has an acceptance rate of 18%.  This presentation, from an Editor’s perspective, discusses the (imperfect) processes of peer review, editorial decision-making and the unintended consequences of journal impact factor rankings.  I will also offer some thoughts and tips to authors on how best to present clinical trial manuscripts for journal consideration
